Obligatory insurance for your dog.
The new animal welfare Law was approved in Spain, on the 28th of March 2023, which installs obligatory public liability Insurance for dogs in Spain.
Here at efpg, we have been preparing for this law to come into force and we are ready to help you find the right insurance for you and your furry friend.
Liability Insurance
Liability insurance protects against claims resulting from injuries and damage to other people or property. Liability insurance policies cover any legal costs and payouts an insured party is responsible for if they are found legally liable.
There are two main types of liability insurance, this is Private and Public liability.

Public Liability
Public liability is designed for companies and businesses looking to obtain cover against damages caused to clients, customers, or other people or property. It is not always compulsory but it is always advisable.

Private or Personal Liability
Private or Personal Liability protects you financially if you're responsible for damages or injuries to others.
Liability insurance should be included in your home, and car insurance. However, we would recommend Personal Liability cover as well, should you be responsible for damages or injuries caused to other people or their property that is not covered elsewhere.
Imagine you are walking along the street looking at your phone and you bump into an old lady that falls over and breaks her hip, she could claim against you. With your Personal Liability insurance, the insurance company will take care of everything.
