24 Mar 23

The World Day for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer is celebrated on March 26th of each year to raise awareness among all women of the importance of preventing the appearance of this disease, taking into account that with a timely diagnosis the figures which are increasingly claiming more lives could be reversed.

Cervical cancer is a severe pathology that is caused by multiple factors, one of which is the so-called Human Papillomavirus(HPV). A high percentage of women do not show any symptoms and this is because The Immune System, in general, does not allow the virus to cause damage. When is not strong enough, it can cause damage to the cells of the cervix that over the years end up transforming into cancer cells, to go on then to form tumours.

The first action to prevent cervical cancer is continuously evaluating women by specialists in this field. Periodic visits to the doctor are recommended so that pertinent studies are carried out, especially if the woman has already started her sexual life.
