Climate Change

18 Nov 22

The climatic change that we have been suffering in the last few years in the world is tremendously worrying, especially these last few months. We are in the middle of November and we are having summer temperatures. Many parts of Spain have gone from severe drought to extreme flooding.

The torrential rains in Valencia and Castellón over the last few days have left 148 litres per square meter at the Valencia Airport. The consequences from said rainfall are vast such as interruption of service in the metro and other train networks; inoperative runway due to the impact of lightning, flights with diversions and cancellations; firefighters responding to many calls to rescue people from their cars, or homes that had been flooded.

In this situation, it is advisable to be prepared by taking precautions, such as staying away from riverbeds that usually run dry. Since heavy rain, these can flood quickly and avoid low-lying areas where there may be large accumulations of water due to the rains. Also, take into consideration that the usual outdoor activities can be altered by these very strong precipitations.
